We may be spending more time inside this summer, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be creative and have fun! We’ll explore different genres and topics, meet new friends, and create new stories together.
We currently offer virtual writing-based workshops designed to foster creativity, strengthen writing skills, and provide students with a forum for executing projects they might not otherwise have the support to undertake.
Feeling isolated and bored during quarantine? Now’s your chance to connect with teens and professional authors from around the country! We’ll talk about writing, how we’re getting through social distancing, and share our own work.
During the school year, 826NYC offers homework help and writing instruction for students 6 to 18. Tutors assist with homework in every subject and lead students in writing and reading-based enrichment activities.
Every year we dispatch a Teaching Artist and a team of volunteers into local public schools. In the classroom, the Teaching Artist leads a creative writing project that culminates in a publication.
During the school year, 826NYC hosts school groups of up to 30 students for interactive writing field trips. We invite teachers to choose from three different trips, each designed to cater to students in a specific range of grade levels.
