This summer, students entering grades 4-9 can join us to write about all things delicious, mysterious, magical, and dramatic, with shorter workshops, Zoom + in-person options, AND full-day camps (options vary by grade).
In five-week sessions, young writers come together in Write Away Workshops to explore a multitude of genres and subjects while developing their voices in imaginative group settings.
Writing and literacy support combine in our engaging, personalized after-school program where students stretch their literary imagination.
During the school year, 826NYC hosts school groups of up to 30 students for interactive writing field trips. We invite teachers to choose from three different trips, each designed to cater to students in a specific range of grade levels.
Over the course of the year, adventurous authors plot a course -- and a plot -- through an unknown land with magical creatures and epic quests.
Extra, extra! Middle school journalists report on all the top issues of the day, right here at 826NYC! This year-round journalism program starts with the basics, like conducting great interviews and distinguishing opinion from fact, and takes the story all the way to the top with regular publications from our intrepid reporters.
Every year we dispatch a Teaching Artist and a team of volunteers into local public schools. In the classroom, the Teaching Artist leads a creative writing project that culminates in a publication.
826NYC's Teen Writer's Collective launched Fall 2020, offering a select collective of motivated young writers from around NYC to explore the art of writing and literary citizenship.
Feeling isolated and bored during quarantine? Now’s your chance to connect with teens and professional authors from around the country! We’ll talk about writing, how we’re getting through social distancing, and share our own work.
