I am, I am, I am presents the vibrant inner lives of 10th and 11th grade students at the Academy for Young Writers in Brooklyn, New York. Students explore their complex feelings around love, beauty, friendship, loss, identity, and self-discovery through creative poems and personal essays that lay their hearts on the page. You’ll read about various firsts and scars, risks and accidents, spending time with family, bringing home a sibling or pet, exploring nature, and other meaningful life experiences.
