Into the Shadows: Ghost Stories
We ain’t afraid of no ghosts! In this workshop, students will write tales of the unknown, welcomed by spirits of all shapes and sizes! We’ll read stories where characters journey through magical worlds, inspired by myths, folklore, and more. Whether they dare to meet a disco-dancing demon or giggle at a ghostly game of Go Fish, students will imagine stories that will live in our hearts forever—or at least until we return to our earthly plane.
In this workshop, students will work on writing skills including understanding tone and mood, writing with descriptive and sensory details, and world-building.
About Write Away Workshops
We know that young authors have the power and imagination to go beyond the five-paragraph essay. In Write Away Workshops, students explore a multitude of genres and subjects, and develop their voices as writers. Groups write freely and participate in imaginative writing activities and lessons. Young writers leave each workshop with a piece to be proud of, as well as a newfound understanding of the topic and new friends.
