Celebrating Our Spring Chapbooks!

News —— June 24, 2024

This past year, we’ve written dozens and dozens of stories across all our programs, and now that the school year has come to a close we’ve published three new chapbooks of our favorite piece from our Write After School program, Write Away Workshops, the Teen Writers Collective, and our weekend Dungeons & Dragons & Writers workshop! All our chapbooks are available now to take home at The Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co, both in-store and online!

Multicolor Palette in the Sky

This book is a collection of stories and poems by students in 826NYC’s Write After School and Write Away Workshops programs in the winter and spring of 2024. Young writers from ages 6-14 wrote extraordinary stories about ordinary but comedic disasters, created vivid free verse poems about the earth and rhythmic rhymes about being true to yourself, and brought us on journeys with fantastical creatures. In Multicolor Palette in the Sky, New York City’s most creative and curious young authors will enchant, enlighten, and inspire you.

The Wannabes / A Whale in Space (and Other Stories)

This book is a retelling of both campaigns from our Dungeons & Dragons & Writers workshops. In The Wannabes, our middle school players explored an alternate version of New York City in the aftermath of a devastating meteorological event, where their characters developed superhuman powers… to the dismay of the American government. In A Whale in Space (and Other Stories), our high school players traveled across distant galaxies in an epic quest to take down the evil Charlie Corporation, who rule the universe like an empire.

Dreams, Screams and Everything in Between

This book is a collection of stories and poems by students in 826NYC’s Teen Writers’ Collective. These writers share stories and poems with us about a world of realms, from girls who breathe flowers, to a cryogenically frozen mom, to fountains of youth and space-romance-operas. Dreams, Screams and Everything in Between is a book that excites audiences young and old, with original work written by Brooklyn’s most creative and curious young authors.
