We’re excited to introduce you to our March Author of the Month, Zee R.!
What is your favorite thing you’ve written recently? Tell us a bit about it!
My D&D&W‘s character’s backstory. Her name is Morday, she’s a bard who plays music and likes fire. She’s like my alter ego in a world not as boring as this.
I gave her a backstory that was not as traumatizing as the rest of my characters. I tried to make it so that she would somehow end up with the rest of my guild.
What are three words you would use to describe 826NYC?
Accepting, Exciting, Friendly
If someone was considering joining 826NYC, what would you tell them?
Prepare to never want to leave. It’s a fun place and you’ll probably find some friends you will stay with for a long time.
What advice would you give someone writing for the first time?
Pace yourself. Because writer’s block is an absolute nightmare. Let your story escape your mind, go with the flow, and worry about grammar and stuff like that later on. And also, sometimes your end product isn’t what you imagined, but that is what the magic of editing and rewriting is.
