Let Out a Big Roar: Beastly Stories & Poems
This one is for the animal lovers! Maybe you have a way of sniffing out the dog run in every city park. Or maybe you’re a lion on the soccer field, slow as a sloth on a Sunday morning, or you find that a starry night sky makes your heart flutter like a moth. When you think about it, we all have something wild inside us. In this workshop, we’ll write poetry and stories about the animals that share our lives and inspire our dreams, from odes to our pets to stories that imagine a whale’s worries.
About Write Away Workshops
We know that young authors have the power and imagination to go beyond the five-paragraph essay. In Write Away Workshops, students explore a multitude of genres and subjects, and develop their voices as writers. Groups write freely and participate in imaginative writing activities and lessons. Young writers leave each workshop with a piece to be proud of, as well as a newfound understanding of the topic and new friends.
