We’re excited to introduce you to our January Author of the Month, Lucas D.!
What is your favorite thing you’ve written recently? Tell us a bit about it!
I like to write scary stories. The last scary story I wrote was about animatronics, it starts with a woman named Charlie who moved her home and her friends broke into a mall and there are some animatronics being controlled by a bad person. He was wearing a yellow rabbit suit. All the animatronics grabbed Charlie and her friends and dragged them into the hallway. And then…you have to read it!
What are three words you would use to describe 826NYC?
Superhero: it means a good person that saves the world.
Writing: it means instead of drawing you make words, and sometimes you have chapters.
Snack time: you eat, like, cookies, oranges, goldfish – stuff like that.
If someone was considering joining 826NYC, what would you tell them?
Well, the first time I came here I told my friend Leo to come because I liked the snacks and the movies.
What advice would you give someone writing for the first time?
Sometimes I start my story like how the place it’s in began, and the details. Secrets like that.
