After ten years as Executive Director, Joshua Mandelbaum will be stepping down from his role at 826YC.
“I leave knowing that 826NYC is in a position of strength. We are serving creative young people across New York City, and our current strategic plan charts a clear path forward,” Joshua says.
“It has been such an honor to support the young writers of 826NYC. They have been a source of constant inspiration, surprise, and joy. I know that the board and staff, all brilliant, amazing people, will continue the work we’ve done together over the last decade.”
“Joshua has seen the organization through times of great change, and challenges – he’s grown our operating budget, breathed exciting life into our programming, and ensured that the organization served as a source of consistency and inspiration during a pandemic. Joshua is an incredible leader and a dear friend,” says Michelle McGovern, 826NYC’s Board President, “We wish him well with his next adventure and look forward to announcing his successor.”
826NYC’s Board of Directors has begun a search for the organization’s next Executive Director. In the interim, the board and staff will be working together to ensure that 826NYC continues to inspire its young authors and execute on its strategic plan.
