We’re excited to introduce you to our August Volunteer of the Month, Steele Snyder!
826NYC: How did you first get involved with 826NYC and why did you decide to volunteer?
My school wanted me to come here for an internship and figured it would be a good fit for me. Danny told me I could continue to volunteer once my school internship ended, and that’s exactly what I did!
826NYC: What’s your favorite part of 826NYC?
I love this non-profit organization! Helping the students with their reading and writing, and all the wonderful thing 826NYC does for the students. It’s really a pleasure.
826NYC: What’s your favorite part of Write Together field trips?
I felt really good helping with the stories. There are so many stories I really enjoyed. I love the creativity and the strengths the students put in.
826NYC: What do you do when you’re not at 826NYC?
I do a lot of other things! I visit amusement parks or go shopping. I’ve mostly been doing college prep!
826NYC: What advice would you give a new volunteer?
Stay calm, be excited, and do your very best.
826NYC: What are your superpowers?
My superpower is helping students stay organized, stay strong, and stay on topic!
