On July 25th, 17-year-old Isiah “Izzy” Tamar, winner of the first 826NYC and David Zwirner Book Award, read four of his recent pieces to a crowd of friends from both organizations at the David Zwirner Books pop-up shop. Isiah won the prize for his poem “On Coney,” and is spending a month-and-a-half at a paid internship with David Zwirner Books where he will work in the pop-up shop, assist the editorial team, and meet once a week with Lucas Zwirner to receive feedback on his writing and build his portfolio.
