How did you first get involved with 826NYC and why did you decide to volunteer?

Ned: A colleague of mine recommended the position.  I LOVE SUPERHEROS!!!!

Ben: I have an interest in volunteering and being of service.  I first heard of 826NYC through my employer.

What’s your favorite part of volunteering at 826NYC?

Ned: Meeting and greeting the international clients and telling them about 826NYC.

Ben: Working in the BSSCo. storefront and  informing visitors about the 826NYC writing center, publications, tutoring, and workshops.

What do you do when you’re not at 826NYC?

Ned: Studying Alphabetizing,listening to Taylor Swift ,and  watching WWE programing. I also spend time raising my hamster named Sonic.

Ben: I focus on exploring creative endeavors.

What advice would you give to a new volunteer?

Ned: Come in on time and don’t slack off.

Ben: Have fun and get to know the customers. We have many international travelers that come into the store. Watch out for Miss Mildew!

What are your superpowers?

Ned: I can draw really well.

Ben: Gratitude.
