March Author of the Month: Esme B.

News —— March 3, 2026

We’re excited to introduce you to our March Author of the Month, Esme!

What is your favorite thing you’ve written recently? Tell us a bit about it!

I’ve been working on a piece called Escape. The story starts in the middle of nowhere. Basically the narrator wakes up in the middle of nowhere, then he sees a lion standing not far away so he runs away. He then remembers that the lion is a bad guy, a shapeshifter, and the narrator’s mom’s enemy. No matter how much the narrator runs, he can’t escape the bad guy. The story has a deeper meaning and is a representation of reality.

What are three words you would use to describe 826NYC? How would you describe 826NYC?

826NYC a book kingdom because it has a lot of books and I can read whenever I want before class starts. I love reading. It’s like a relaxing place, you don’t have to feel a lot of pressure when you’re here.

If someone was considering joining 826NYC, what would you tell them?

I would tell them, if you like to write, having discussions about your writing with others, and a place with no pressure and you can write whatever you want, you should join.

What advice would you give someone writing for the first time?

If it’s your first time writing, don’t feel like you have to write something really good on your first time. If you want to write about a running pizza or anything you want, you can write it down. Don’t worry about what other people say, if this is what you want to write about, then write about it!
