What is your favorite thing you’ve written recently? Tell us a bit about it!

My Experience Of The Writing Program was a piece I wrote to show my experience based on when I first came to the TWC writing class. I said how I felt in the beginning, how I felt nervous, not knowing if this is the right place for me. But as I continued being a part of the program and learning, interacting with other students, I started to learn to enjoy being here.

What are three words you would use to describe 826NYC?

Fun, good place to work in, interesting environment.

Very sociable, it seems like a lot of the teens and the staff are helpful. It seems like all the staff volunteers want to learn more about us, our skills, our stories, and they also share helpful feedback, like how we can improve our stories. 

If someone was considering joining 826NYC, what would you tell them?

I think you will enjoy it! People here want to see you grow in the program. You’ll enjoy the activities to help you with your writing. You’ll have chances to collaborate. You’ll enjoy the teamwork–writing together or by yourself. 

What advice would you give someone writing for the first time?

Take your time. Seek advice from someone who you’re close to, so you can see what kind of suggestions can go well with your story.
