We’re excited to introduce you to our February Author of the Month, Ehlly!
What is your favorite thing you’ve written recently? Tell us a bit about it!
“The Girl Broke the Mom’s Glasses”. The girl sneaks into the mom’s room with a hammer quietly and breaks the mom’s glasses. And the mom opens her eyes a little and goes back to sleep, and the girl sneaks back out.
What are three words you would use to describe 826NYC? How would you describe 826NYC?
Amazing, fun, interesting
Being in 826 is like meeting friends you never knew. The volunteers help you with writing and give you ideas. I love it!
If someone was considering joining 826NYC, what would you tell them?
They should join, because you get to write and play games, like “Who’s the leader?” You get to write and share with the group. My teacher’s name is Amanda, and we joke with them by saying, “Aman daa”.
What advice would you give someone writing for the first time?
To write a story, you have to have a character in mind, the place, the problem, and sometimes the solution or just have the solution but still have the problem. Don’t forget you can draw if you want to.
