In Fall of 2024, students at The High School of Fashion Industries worked on a series of pieces centered on identity. They explored every genre they could: poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and drama, and tried their hand at them. 826NYC Teaching Artist Daniel Goulden was wowed by the sheer intelligence the students of HSFI brought to their discussions and the creativity with which they imbued their work.

Trains of Feelings, Tracks of Thoughts is a collection of creative writing by students at the High School of Fashion Industries that spans every genre and subject. Inside you’ll find poems, stories, and memoirs, every genre and subject, all united by a shared desire of their authors to explore identity.
