Last night, the 826NYC community gathered to celebrate the launch of our newest chapbook, Let Out a Big Roar! This chapbook is a collection of stories by students in 826NYC’s Write After School and Write Away Workshops programs in the summer and fall of 2024. Young writers from ages 6-18 discovered spooky and spectacular monsters, created complex and compelling characters, and brought us on journeys through fantastical worlds. In Let Out a Big Roar, New York City’s most creative and curious young authors enchant, enlighten, and inspire us all.

Special thanks to Camp Friendship for hosting us, to all our volunteers who helped in the classroom and at this release party, and to our teaching artists J’miah Baird, Amanda Dettmann, Amani Nephew, and Summer Medina, for encouraging our students to create the best work possible for this publication!
