This past year, we’ve written over 700 stories across all our programs, and the best of the best have now been published into The 826NYC Review #15! This week we had the pleasure of gathering as a community to celebrate the launch of Review #15, where families heard some of the pieces featured in this new publication. Thank you to Powerhouse Arena in DUMBO for hosting us–there are a few copies of Review #15 in their storefront available to purchase! We’d also like to thank Mercury for their partnership in turning this publication into reality!
“Writing is a playground for the mind, a place to exercise your creativity and strengthen your ability to communicate with others. It’s a place to find power. At 826NYC, it’s a place to find super powers. Just look at the stories in this collection. The writers have learned to see through walls, fly around the world and bring inanimate objects to life.
Within these pages, you’ll find perplexed pickles, pretend poultry, a pining princess, a puckering pixie, portals, pickaxes, and even a few great ideas that don’t begin with the letter “p”. These authors know that creativity is a super power and they’ve learned how to capture their wildest ideas with the written word. They’re playing around, and having a great time.”
– Adam Rubin, Foreward
The over 100 pieces featured in this year’s review come from across our workshops, and is available now to take home at The Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co, both in-store and online!
