News —— September 6, 2022

We’re excited to introduce you to our September Volunteer of the Month, Tiana Moe. Tiana joined our volunteer editing cohort in 2020, and has worked on numerous publications as an editor & proofreader! Learn more about Tiana by reading below:

826NYC: How did you first get involved with 826NYC, and why did you decide to volunteer?

Tiana: I heard about 826LA by watching Critical Role, I loved what I heard, so I looked up the location closer to me, 826NYC!

826NYC: What’s your favorite part of 826NYC?

Tiana: I LOVE the work done here. The kids and teens at 826NYC are writing geniuses. I love reading their pieces and getting a glimpse into their limitless imaginations.

826NYC: What do you do when you’re not at 826NYC?

Tiana: I work in the book publishing industry. I proofread audiobooks and manuscripts before publication.

826NYC: What advice would you give to a new volunteer?

Tiana: Relish the unlimited potential of these kids. As volunteers we’re here to help, and one of the best ways we can do it is to let them be their beautiful selves.

826NYC: What is your superpower?

Tiana: I’m not too shabby at the piano, and I really enjoy learning languages.
