The strength of our volunteer base allows us to provide in-school support for teachers in New York City classrooms. We send volunteers into New York City schools to support teachers with writing projects in their classroom. If you are a teacher and your students could use additional one-on-one help with any sort of writing project, please let us know what you’re working on, when, and where—and we’ll dispatch an enthusiastic batch of tutors to your classroom.

A typical in-schools project will last between 1 and 4 weeks, with our volunteers coming to a classroom once or twice a week.

Please note: We are currently focusing our in-schools efforts on middle and high school students and schools. For elementary school programming, please visit our field trips page.
