An Evening with Mission Street Food

Posted on September 14, 2011

Mission Street Food is a restaurant. But it's also a charitable organization, a taco truck, a burger stand, and a clubhouse for inventive cooks tucked inside an unassuming Chinese take-out place. And now it's a book.

On September 26, the authors Karen Leibowitz and Anthony Myint will be at 826NYC to discuss their book and their philosophy. They'll be joined by Francis Lam from GILT Taste for what is sure to be some rousing conversation!

826 National + Threadless

Posted on September 01, 2011

826 National has partnered with Threadless, the international community-driven company, to challenge the public and Threadless's community of 1.5 million artists to design a t-shirt for the organization.

Threadless is asking artists to create a design inspired by 826 National's mission of exploring students' creativity and improving their writing skills. For inspiration, artists can check out the organization’s gallery featuring the best student writing from workshops, field trips and tutoring sessions from 826 centers across the country. Type-based t-shirt designs are encouraged!

The challenge is hosted on Threadless Causes, which launched in early 2011 to enable other organizations to harness the power of community-based design while bringing the Threadless community new opportunities to impact the creative design of products across industries. To view current submissions or enter your own design, visit this page.
